Jennifer Hall Thornton, CEO
Jennifer Hall Thornton joined PEARonline as CEO in 2008 to lead the expansion of the team and the development of international offices. She brings experience of developing emerging businesses as well as the financial sector. She has previously been CEO of a London-based publishing, consulting and conference business where she was responsible for developing and professionalising the family-owned business while expanding sales and profitability rapidly. She was also one of the first ten employees of specialist investment bank Climate Change Capital, where she was a corporate financier responsible for a number of areas including raising private equity and venture capital for clean-tech clients.
Simon Thornton, Founder
Simon Thornton has worked in the private equity industry for 24 years as an LP, a GP, and running private equity information businesses. In 2005 he founded PEARonline, which provides private equity GPs and placement agents with a cost-effective, easy-to-use solution to web-based communication with LPs for fund raising and fund reporting. The service is used by GPs in the US, Europe and Asia to communicate with 2,500 LPs worldwide. Previously he established and ran the European operations of Landmark Partners, a US firm specialising in secondaries, was responsible for European, Middle Eastern and Asian investor relations with BC Partners, and co-founded and was joint managing director of Initiative Europe.
Evolving Media
PEARonline’s website was developed by Evolving Media, a UK-based design, internet and software consultancy established in 1999 and now employing over 30 staff. Evolving Media has extensive experience of developing and managing security-critical web applications for clients including banks and fund managers. The company has developed a proprietary Content Management System which forms the core of PEARonline’s service.
