Will you have a state-of-the-art fundraising data room in 2017?

Lorna Clark, @pearonline

Setting up your first fundraising data room or want a resource to make sure that you’ve got everything covered in yours?  PEARonline and Ffs have got your back with the definitive guide to setting up and managing a private equity fundraising data room.

Drawing on the Ffs and PEARonline teams’ long experience as GPs, LPs and placement agents, the guide will focus on content – what should be in your data room – and management – how you should deliver it to your potential investors and other issues.

Content will break down each section of the data room, give you a summary of what should be included in that section, and provide additional critical information.  The sections covered will include DDQ, fund, organisation, team, market, strategy, approach, track record and warehoused investments, operation, and referees.

Management will walk you through how to present, deliver and reveal this information, covering:

  • Hosting: Where will you host your data room, is it easy to manage and LP-friendly?
  • Security: What security features are important to you, and what are the pros and cons of using these features?
  • Document Permissions: How to manage the reveal of information to prospects
  • Updating Documents: How to keep documents up-to-date during (often prolonged) fundraisings
  • Visibility: Tracking activity in your data room

The guide will be released in February. Sign up for updates on the right and be the first to know when it’s available.  Meanwhile if you have views on what we should include, let us know by replying below.
